When companion planting with herbs there is a large variety that can protect your plants. Here are three examples.
Tansy
Growing Tansy is a very effective way to protect your garden. It is a tall strong smelling herb with jagged fernlike leaves and clusters of orange yellow flowers that look like the centers of daisys. Make sure you do not get one of the look alike plants with similar names like tansy ragwort which is a low growing plant which is a poison. Only the tansy “Tanacetum Vulgare” has the fragrant powers you need. what is tansy used for? It used to be a substitue for pepper and was used in bedding for its smell and to ward off bedbugs.It can reach five or six feet in height. Plant it in several locations throughout your garden
Borage
Growing borage will repell the tomato hornworm and attract bees. It grows to about two or three feet high. Thyme will also provide this dual benefit.
Coriander
Coriander uses are many, It will repel alphids and works against the carrot fly.
