sketch book by sunset

usually when I do a sketch and scan it in, it is done to reduce any elements except the line work, as the sketch its self is but one layer of a piece. Tonight while I still have this dream lens (canon 35mm 1.4) rented for 3 more days, i decided to do some quick doodles in one of the good fiber sketch books. the sun was setting so I opened the blinds just a few inches to let in some directional lighting to show the fiber texture of the paper. I also experimented with the lenses amazing depth of field to actually enhance the composition of the individual doodles.
