Big Chicken Marietta Georgia

I had to make a trip down to Marietta this morning. I looked up to see the old big chicken landmark. I had my camera in the trunk and pulled over to get a few shots. The sky was overcast which made for great lighting and a nice canidate for some HDR work. I also shot a wide angle and got out he 85mm for some detail shots. This KFC building has been used as a landmark for giving directions as long as I can remember. Looking at the detais it looks like it has had some refurbishing as I don’t remember it looking this nice when I was younger.

I was in an HDR mood today and was able to fit in a very short photo walk. That is the beauty of taking a photo walk they don’t have to be all day excursions, even taking five minutes out of your day to stroll through a new area is very refreshing. It helps to break the rut of shooting in the same few places. These shots are from around kennesaw and downtown Woodstock. Disovering that awesome folk art car was the highlight of my walk, I could not have asked for a better subject to practice HDR on.
